Key Terms to Know:

ISA Report or In-Stock Ammo Report – This report is created and submitted by you, our subscribers, to alert KnowAmmo when and where you find ammunition in stock at a local retailer.

Primary Location – You let us know your “Primary Location” at Sign-Up. (This may be your home or work address.) KnowAmmo will determine if your Primary Location is within a 5-mile radius of retailers identified in ISA Reports and which have your desired caliber(s) of ammunition in stock! You may change your Primary Location by clicking Manage Location from your menu.

KAN or KnowAmmo Notice – This is a notification generated by KnowAmmo and sent to you to notify you of ammunition in your desired caliber(s) at a retail store within 5 miles of your Primary Location.

What is KnowAmmo?

KnowAmmo is a CROWD-SOURCED platform designed to help you find the rifle or pistol ammunition you’re looking for! That means KnowAmmo is dependent on YOU to help us better serve you and your fellow subscribers. By subscribing to KnowAmmo, you can enter those calibers you want to buy and be notified when another subscriber finds your desired ammunition in stock at a store near you!

How does KnowAmmo work?

KnowAmmo depends on YOU, the subscriber, to alert us when you find ammunition in stock at a local retailer. We encourage you to create and submit a detailed “IN STOCK AMMO” (also called an “ISA”) REPORT with KnowAmmo when you find stocks of ammunition in a retail store. You may also create an UPDATED ISA Report when you visit the store to let your fellow subscribers know when certain calibers are or are not available. As this information from initial and updated ISA Reports is received by KnowAmmo, the application will notify other subscribers via a “KNOWAMMO REPORT” (or “KAN”) when the identified retailer is within a 5-mile radius and has ammunition in stock in those subscribers’ desired calibers. When you open a KAN, it will contain the most updated information known to KnowAmmo regarding in-stock ammunition at an identified retail store. Similarly, when another subscriber finds ammunition in stock in a store near you and files a thorough ISA that includes the caliber(s) you are seeking, you will be notified where you can find the ammunition you want including the location of the store.

How do I subscribe to KnowAmmo?

Simply click the “Sign Up” button and complete the Sign-Up process. We ask for your name, a primary location, your email address, the calibers of ammunition you want, and a credit card to cover a small fee, depending on the type of subscription you select.

What are my subscription options?

To start, we are offering two free months of KnowAmmo as a Trial Subscription. To select this option, you simply click the “Trial Subscription” from the listing during the Sign-Up process.

As the end of your Trial Subscription period approaches, we will notify you. You will have the following options:

1. Unlimited Subscription – Unlimited access to KANs showing available ammunition at retail locations within a 5-mile radius from your primary location for SIX (6) months! This subscription option is only $8.00 for the six-month subscription period.

2. Per Use Subscription – By selecting the Per Use Subscription, you will receive KANs showing available ammunition in the caliber(s) you seek within a 5-mile radius from your primary location. To learn the location, you must open the KAN. Each KAN that you open will result in a $1.15 charge to access the location of the ammunition.

If you decide to terminate your subscription, you may do so at anytime. Please know we are working hard to provide great value by helping you to find your desired ammunition nearby, and we welcome the opportunity to hear your suggestions and constructive criticism. What is an “ISA” Report?

An ISA Report is our nickname for an “In Stock Ammunition” Report. As a subscriber, you have the ability to submit an ISA Report to KnowAmmo. ISA Reports show KnowAmmo where other subscribers can find ammunition they may be seeking. An ISA Report includes store, location and in-stock calibers that you can check using built-in checkboxes, just like when you subscribe to KnowAmmo. The more detail and accuracy you include in any ISA Reports you submit, the better we will be able to serve your fellow subscribers! Then other subscribers can return the favor to your benefit!

How to I create and submit an ISA Report?

It’s so easy! To notify KnowAmmo when you find in-stock ammunition at a retailer, open your KnowAmmo menu and click “Create ISA.” The screen will allow you to confirm your current location, check the calibers in stock from a list of common calibers, and take up to three pictures of the ammo shelves to submit along with your ISA. When you submit your ISA, you will receive a note confirming receipt and thanking you for helping KnowAmmo help your fellow subscribers.

How current is the information submitted via an ISA?

This is up to you and your fellow subscribers! We’re sure you want the most up-to-date information to be provided via KnowAmmo. So we encourage you to help us provide updated information to your fellow subscribers when you actually visit a retailer shown on a KAN. You can do this by submitting an Update ISA Report detailing the remaining levels of in-stock ammunition at that store. This updated, more recent information you submit will automatically update the corresponding KANs received by your fellow subscribers. And your fellow subscribers will return the favor to help you in similar fashion!

What is a “KAN”?

A KAN is a “KnowAmmo Notice” which is sent by KnowAmmo to our subscribers. A KAN will alert you to in-stock ammunition in your desired caliber(s) at stores within 5 miles from your primary location. Depending on the subscription you choose, any KAN may be accessed on an unlimited basis (Unlimited Subscription) or for a small per-use fee (Per Use Subscription).

When do I receive a KAN? And will I get more KANs repetitively?

You will receive a KAN when KnowAmmo receives an ISA Report from a fellow subscriber alerting us to in stock ammunition at a retail store. KnowAmmo then determines whether that ISA includes your desired calibers and whether the identified store is within a 5-mile radius of your Primary Location. If both of those determinations are proven, then KnowAmmo will send you a KAN alerting you to in-stock ammunition available in your desired caliber(s) at a store near you. KnowAmmo will not send you additional KANs regarding the same store or ISA. Once you receive a KAN, you may open “Manage KANs” on your KnowAmmo menu to find and access “active” or “expired” KANs. And you can rest assured that when you open any KAN, it will contain the most recently updated information available to KnowAmmo.

I have a Per Use Subscription. How often may I open a KAN without paying additional charges?

If you receive a KAN, you may open it as often as you like for 48 hours after its distribution. Each time you open a KAN, updated information will be provided to you, as your fellow subscribers submit Update ISA Reports showing ammunition that is remaining in stock at the retailer in the KAN. If you open that same KAN one or more times within 48 hours after its initial generation, you will be charged only ONE PER USE FEE. KANs “expire” 48 hours after initially generated. If you open the same KAN after it has expired (in other words, more than 48 hours has elapsed since its initial generation), you will be charged one additional per-use fee.

What is a “Primary Location”?

Your Primary Location is a geographic location you select to help KnowAmmo figure out which KANs to send your way. When KnowAmmo receives an ISA Report that includes one or more of the calibers you select during Sign-Up, it will send you a KAN--but only if the retail location is within 5 miles of your Primary Location. If the store is farther away, you will not receive a KAN notification.

How do I select a larger (or smaller) geographic radius from my Primary Location?

Currently, we do not provide that functionality for our subscribers as KnowAmmo is a new application. For our initial rollout, we have entered a 5-mile radius as our default value. So, any KANs you receive will provide store locations within 5 miles of your Primary Location. As we grow and roll KnowAmmo out to more and more subscribers, we will be able to add that capability and others to enhance convenience and value KnowAmmo delivers to you and your fellow subscribers. So…. HELP US GROW!! Tell your friends about KnowAmmo and encourage them to subscribe. The more subscribers, the more ISA Reports, and the more KANs, and the more subscriber satisfaction you will experience! Please help us to better understand the priority of this particular feature (and any others we have not included) as we develop our KnowAmmo application to better serve you, our subscribers!
